SCOTTSBORO POLICE ARREST 3 ON DRUG CHARGES

August 29, 2020 – At approximately 12:55 a.m., Scottsboro Police Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle call in the 2400 block of Snodgrass Road. Officers arrived and located the vehicle, parked in the driveway of a residence. A male, later identified as Joshua Lee Morrow, 37, of Scottsboro, was asleep inside. Morrow was found to under the influence of a controlled substance. Morrow was subsequently arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. After an inventory search of the vehicle, approximately 274 grams of synthetic cannabinoids were located, along with Suboxone, scales, used syringes, and other drug paraphernalia.  Morrow was additionally charged with Drug Trafficking, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Morrow is currently in the Jackson County Jail with a $11,300 bond.

August 31, 2020 – At approximately 1:09 a.m., a Scottsboro Police Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Street. The vehicle was occupied by Leanna Danielle Precise, 30, of Woodville, and Derek Austin Rothell, 31, of Scottsboro. It was determined both occupants had outstanding warrants with other agencies. Both individuals were placed under arrest at that time. After a search of the vehicle, officers located approximately 3.4 grams of methamphetamine, four types of medication, in which the occupants did not have a prescription. Three of those were a controlled substance. Marijuana, syringes, and various drug paraphernalia items were also located. $4,136 in cash was also found and seized.

Precise and Rothell were both charged with four counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Illegal Possession of Prescription Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Precise was charged with an additional Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree.

Both individuals are currently in the Jackson County Jail. Precise is held on a $20,900 bond. Rothell $20,600. Precise and Rothell both have holds due to the warrants with other agencies.
